Paducah Police Officer Brooke Adams was awarded the Meritorious Service Award, the department’s second-highest honor, at Tuesday’s Paducah Board of Commissioners meeting.
Paducah Police Department Facebook page reports that, on her search for a missing adult in June, she came upon a man matching the description at the bus station, where she saw a man actively shooting at bystanders.
Without hesitation, Officer Adams confronted the armed man and successfully took him into custody.
Her swift action saved lives and exemplifies the highest standards of courage, duty, and service.
