Parents of Union City Elementary and Middle School students will not have to worry about purchasing school supplies this year.
Director of Schools Wes Kennedy has announced the school system will continue its recent trend of providing necessary supplies for every student in Pre-K through 8th grade for the upcoming year.
Students will only be responsible for providing a backpack.
Director Kennedy said a new school year comes with some stress and financial burdens for families, especially those with multiple children.
He said it was his hope that providing the needed school supplies will alleviate some of the anxiety that many parents and families feel.
Union City students will register for classes on August 7th, with classes starting on August 11th.
