
UT Martin Associate Professor of history, Dr. Renee LaFleur will discuss her research on the Women’s Suffrage Movement in Tennessee as part of next month’s meeting of the Jackson Purchase Historical Society.
The meeting will be August 16th at 10:30 at Discovery Park of America where Dr. LaFleur will speak on the issue of women’s suffrage as part of American politics for many years.
The presentation will explore this important and interesting episode in our history.
Her research brings to forefront the important role Tennessee played in women gaining the right to vote.
Those attending the program will enjoy free admission to the Discovery Park, excluding special exhibits.
