Head Coach: Matt McConnell (2nd Season)

Last Season: 14-1 (7-0 Region)

Classification: 7AAA

Coming off a runner-up state championship season, the Westview Chargers are gearing up for another year of success.

Head Coach of the Chargers Matt McConnell is impressed with the way his team has grown.

Last season, Westview suffered their sole loss in the championship game to East Tennessee powerhouse, Alcoa. Leading the Chargers was MaxPreps National Freshman High School Player of the Year, Graham Simpson who threw for over 4,000 yards and 57 touchdowns.

Simpson has offers from various division one programs such as Alabama, Duke, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Oklahoma.

It’s not just the quarterback making an impact, various players on the Chargers have received division one offers such as Asa Barnes or Miles Brown.

The Chargers open their football season on August 22nd at home against MASE. Before that, McConnell wants his squad to be prepared for what it takes to be a winning football team.

On August 1st the Chargers will have their first scrimmage of the fall against Huntingdon.
