This Saturday marks the 145th Fancy Farm Picnic in Graves County with a weekend of politics and barbeque.
Held on the first Saturday in August, dozens of local, state and federal elected officials and candidates always attend to meet with their constituents in hopes of being elected later.
The annual fundraising picnic is sponsored by St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. Meanwhile for those that prefer fish instead of barbeque Friday afternoon the Knights of Columbus host a fish fry.
Bingo and other games along with “live” music and lots of bantering this Saturday when numerous candidates have the opportunity to meet with prospective voters.
