Two people were sentenced to life in prison for a 2021 murder in Lake County.
A Lake County Circuit Court jury returned guilty verdicts of first degree murder against Michelle Basham, of Tiptonville, and Jared Scott, of Ridgely.
Following the conviction, Judge Mark Hayes handed down the life in prison sentence.
The charges were in connection with the January 10th of 2021 murder of 59 year old Birdie Mae Terry, of Tiptonville.
Ms. Terry was shot while standing in a driveway in the 800 block of McBride Street. She died three days later.
An almost two year investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation led to the indictment of charges against both Basham and Scott.
The case was prosecuted by District Attorney General Danny Goodman Jr.
