Union City police were called to investigate the theft of lawn care equipment.
Police reports said an officer responded to a residence on South Taylor Street, where 33 year old Brent Barnett Jr. reported the theft of an Echo 225 weedeater.
Barnett said the weedeater was kept in an open storage area near the rear of the house, and was seen the previous day.
The weedeater was described as orange in color with a straight shaft.
The value of the theft was listed at $281.
