Construction is set to begin next year on replacing the I-55 Bridge connecting Tennessee and Arkansas.
Last July, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Arkansas and Tennessee nearly $400 million dollars towards the cost of the bridge replacement.
The 75-year-old bridge will also be renamed
“Kings Crossing”, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., B.B. King, and Elvis Presley.
Right-of-Way coordination is set to begin later this year.
