
The Mayfield Police Department has announced the arrest of a 14 year old male from Fulton in connection with a Friday night shooting in Mayfield.
The shooting occurred during the fourth quarter of the Mayfield/Graves County football game, with 18 year old Jordan Riley, of Farminton, receiving serious injuries to his arm and upper torso.
Riley was transferred to a Nashville hospital for his injuries, and remains in stable condition.
The football game was immediately halted, as players, officials and fans ran for cover after the shots were fired.
The 14-year old shooter was charged with first degree assault, after an investigation revealed the shooting occurred following a physical altercation between the victim and another juvenile.
The shooting suspect is being held in a juvenile detention center, while Mayfield police are seeking information from witnesses and other in the case.
