Former Dresden native and UT Martin quarterback Dresser Winn was waived by the Los Angeles Rams.
Winn signed with the Rams during the summer, after becoming the starting quarterback of the Memphis Showboats in the UFL.
The former Dresden high school Tennessee Mr. Football played for the Rams in Saturday’s final preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.
Winn had a good game, completing 15-of-23 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown.
He was waived after NFL teams cut their rosters to 53 players.
Winn could have the opportunity to be claimed by another NFL team, or could be retained by the Rams on their practice squad.
