For the second year in a row, Westview Lady Chargers improved to 4 and 0 defeating powerhouse Dyersburg on their field 4 to nothing.
Twelve minutes into the second half, senior forward Maddie Horton broke the scoreless tie with a 25 yard bomb that found the top right shelf.
Four minutes later, Horton scored again off a corner kick that landed on her right foot, which she promptly shot through traffic to extend the lead, 2-0.
Classmate Hayden Markowski scored in the 68th minute, and sophomore Ashlee Brent connected on a free kick awarded to Westview when Chanler Spendlove was fouled just outside the 18 yard box to secure the 4-0 victory.
In a spectacular sequence, goalkeeper Kella Simmons faced a one-on-one attack, cut off the angle, and forced the striker’s shot wide left.
Simmons, along with defenders Brea McGuffin, Kaydence Papich, Tess Anderson, and Aslyssa Williams, recorded a clean sheet for the second time this season in the shutout.
Westview will head to Jackson Saturday morning to face Madison Academic at 10.
