
UT Martin battled for 60 minutes in its season opener last night but fell 27 to 7 against Big 12 Conference member Oklahoma State in front of 45,000 fans at Boone Pickens Stadium.
UT Martin trailed 14-7 with 2:15 remaining in the first quarter. The Skyhawk defense overcame a slow start conceding just six points over a near 49-minute span of clock time.
Quarterback Jase Bauer passed for 70 yards and 51 on the ground. Coach Jason Simpson said this about the game.
The Skyhawks make another trip west for Week 2, traveling to the Lone Star State for a matchup against
University of Texas El Paso next Saturday.
