Nearly 140 Union City Elementary School students have been rewarded for their Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program testing scores.

School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Principal Allison Palmer, along with Assistant Principals Bill Kail and Maggie Miller, rewarded the students with $50 in cash for excelling on the test.

Sixty-seven members of last year’s third grade class and 71 members of last year’s fourth grade class were recognized.

More than $7,000 was awarded to those who met, or exceeded, the expectations on math, reading, or both portions of the TCAP exam.
