Troopers at Kentucky State Police Post 1 arrested a Louisville man after he assaulted a Trooper on I-24 in Livingston County.
During routine patrol on Monday, Post 1 Trooper Landon Stewart observed a pedestrian, identified as 28 year old Ravon Briggs, walking on the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge.
Reports said Trooper Stewart stopped to check on Briggs, and to assist him as pedestrians are not permitted to walk along limited access highways.
During the stop, Briggs refused to identify himself and comply with directions to stop walking.
After failure to comply with multiple verbal commands, Trooper Stewart was then assaulted after his attempt to take Briggs into custody.
Post 1 reports said Trooper Stewart did sustain a minor injury, but a passing motorist stopped to assist in placing Briggs into custody.
Briggs was arrested on multiple charges that included assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and criminal trespassing.
It was also discovered that Briggs had three additional warrants for his arrest.
