
The University of Tennessee at Martin football team held its home opener at Hardy Graham Stadium but could not slow down a high-powered No. 14 ranked Southern Illinois squad in a 37-10 loss Saturday night.
UT Martin was outgained offensively by a 490-to-291-yard margin with No. 14 Southern Illinois racking up a season-high 273 rushing yards.
UT Martin put 10 points on the board courtesy of a two-yard scoring pass from Jase Bauer to Drake Martinez in the second quarter while adding a 33-yard field goal in the third to cap off the evening’s scoring performance.

Elsewhere, Josh McCray scored on a one-yard run in overtime to give No. 6 Georgia a 44-41 victory over No. 15 Tennessee. The Bulldogs came from behind three times to beat the Volunteers for the ninth straight time with Nate Frazier setting up the winnign score with a 21-yard run on Georgia’s first snap in overtime. Tennessee’s Joey Aguilar threw for 371 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a TD. Chris Brazzell III caught scoring passes of 72, 14 and 66 yards. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a TD.
