Former Westview football standout Ty Simpson is making the best of his opportunity as starting quarterback at the University of Alabama.
As a team Captain and quarterback as a redshirt junior this season, Simpson has put up some impressive numbers in the first three games.
The former Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year has completed 64 of 89 passes for 862 yards and nine touchdowns.
Simpson also completed 18 consecutive passes over a two game period, which has placed him second all-time in school history behind Mac Jones and his 19 straight completions.
In Saturday’s 38-14 win over Wisconsin, Simpson connected on 24-of-29 passes for 382 yards and four touchdowns.
Following the game, coach Kalen DeBoer was asked about his quarterback’s play.
Alabama will take the week off and will next play at Georgia on September 27th.
