In light of the recent release from the Obion County Sheriff’s Department and subsequent reports by local media, we would like to provide clarification regarding circumstances surrounding the tragic event in our home.
There has been a longstanding history of domestic violence, which could not be reflected in the official affidavit or media release due to legislative restrictions. Current law prevents the inclusion of undocumented reports of abuse and domestic violence in such documents.
As a result, the public perception of those involved may not present the full reality of this situation.
We urge anyone who is experiencing or aware of domestic abuse to contact local authorities and seek support from the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
