Union City Council Members Approve Purchase of Rifles for Police Department

Union City Council members heard a request to purchase new rifles for the Police Department.

Assistant Police Chief Josh Lovell made the request to Council members at their latest meeting.(AUDIO)

 

Lovell said the purchase would be for ten Troy patrol rifles, which are made in Tennessee.

Councilman Patrick Smith asked Assistant Chief Lovell about the weapons.(AUDIO)

 

Following the presentation, Council members voted unanimously for the purchase of the ten rifles at an estimated cost of $20,000.
