Obion County’s Emergency Management Director is urging all local residents to be prepared in the event of a major earthquake.
EMA Director Danny Carr said being prepared is the focus of the upcoming worldwide “Great Shake Out” drill in October.

Despite living on the New Madrid Fault Line, Carr said the possibility of an earthquake draws little attention in the area.(AUDIO)
While the “Great Shake Out” focuses on schools, businesses, hospitals and other facilities, Carr said planning for the home is a major concern.(AUDIO)
The motto of this year’s drill is “Drop, Cover and Hold On”.
