Parents of three children have been arrested on second degree criminal abuse of their children.
The couple are 34 year old Matthew Carter and 33-year-old Stacie Carter. WKDZ reports the Christian County Kentucky couple were living in a home full of trash, feces and bugs.
Oak Grove officers got a 911 call and were met by Matthew Carter and a 2-year-old.
The child was naked and covered in feces when police came to the door, and when police asked Carter to put clothes on the child, he reportedly responded saying he did not have any.
Inside the home, police found it to be covered in feces, trash, bugs and spoiled food. Police reportedly had to climb onto trash to get into the home.
Besides the 2-year-old, another child under 12 and a child over the age of 12 were sleeping in the living room.
It’s believed the children had not showered since August.
The home had no working bathroom, so the family were using containers stored in the living room. It also reportedly had not had air conditioning since 2022.
