Union City Marching Band Success at Hornet Invitational

The Union City High School Marching Band got off to a successful start in competition this past weekend.

Following their performance at the South Gibson County High School Hornet Invitational, Union City captured first place honors in the categories of Band, Percussion and Color Guard in Class 4.

Union City also captured third place for Drum Major in their category.

Overall out of the 22 bands participating, the Marching Tornadoes took top honors in Color Guard, third place in Percussion and fourth place in Band.

Union City will now host, but not compete, in the Union City Invitational this Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.

More than 20 schools are scheduled to attend and perform in the day long competition.
