For the first time since 200 years the Tennessee Supreme Court has set an execution date for the only woman on Tennessee’s death row.
Forty nine year old Christa Gail Pike, will be executed September 30th 2026.
Pike who was 29 at the time of the murder was among three people convicted in the 1995 murder and torture of Colleen Slemmer.
Pike was convicted alongside her boyfriend and another person for taking a piece of asphalt and struck Slemmer on her head killing her. Prosecutors said Pike kept a portion of Slemmer’s skull after the killing.
It has not been released on how she will be executed
