State Representative Tandy Darby has announced senior centers in Carroll, Weakley and Henry counties totaling $91,000 in state funds to improve facilities and support wellness and social activities for seniors.
In Weakley County the Gateway Center in Martin, the Senior Citizens Centers in Dresden and in Sharon each received $10,000.
Paris Henry County Senior Center Association received $50,000 while Carroll County received $11,000.
The funding came from the Department of Disability and Aging.
Grants may be used for improvements, marketing, activities but not salaries.
