At a press conference yesterday regarding the Safe Task Force in Memphis Governor Bill Lee said 850 violent criminals and known gang members have been arrested, 175 illegal firearms have been confiscated, and 44 missing children have been found and returned to safety so far in Memphis.
TBI Director David Rausch says his team has been focusing on recovering missing children.
Rausch said there were 137 missing children when they began the operation that had been identified and now 45 have been found.
Governor Lee said “the way he measured success is by violent crime and the reduction of that crime and said “we have just begun.”
