The Tennessee Department of Forestry is now requiring burn permits from October 15 until May 15th for controlled and intentional fires.
The Department says that the permit system is a way to let people know about when, where, and how it is safe to burn.
If you wish to burn debris and other reasons you’ll have to obtain a permit through the State Forestry office at l 877-350-BURN (2876)
Permits are available via phone Monday through Friday from 8 to 4:30, except holidays.
