Union City Marching Band Wins Multiple Awards at Gibson County Invitational

The Union City High School marching band had big success at the recent Gibson County Marching Invitational.

After what Director Jason Deem declared as the group’s “best performance of the season”, the Union City band was presented multiple awards.

School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Union City was crowned Small Division Grand Champion, after finishing first in Band, Color Guard and Drum Major categories in preliminary competition.

The Marching Tornadoes were second in their class in Percussion.

In the finals competition, Union City took home second place in Color Guard, fourth place in Band and Drum Major, and fifth place in Percussion.

Union City will now compete in the Crockett County Invitational on Saturday, taking the field for their first performance at noon.
