Tennessee’s new United State’s Attorney for the Western District has taken his oath of office.
Micheal Dunavant was sworn in by U.S. District Judge Mark Norris at the Odell Horton Federal Building in Memphis.
Dunavant takes the Tennessee position for the second time, following his nomination by President Trump and confirmation by the United States Senate.
Upon taking the oath of office, Dunavant now becomes the chief federal prosecutor and legal representative for approximately 1.6 million citizens in West Tennessee.
Dunavant is a native of Ripley who obtained degrees from both the University of Tennessee and University of Mississippi.
