Area residents will get an extra hour of sleep starting Saturday night with the return of Standard Time.
Clocks will officially “fall back” one hour at 2:00 Sunday morning, as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end.
Many residents set their clocks back one hour at bedtime on Saturday, to avoid confusion on Sunday morning.
The change back to Standard Time also means earlier sunsets and longer nighttime hours.
Following the time change this weekend, it will not be until March 8th until clocks will again “spring forward” for Daylight Saving Time.
