An increase in the minimum salary for Tennessee teachers wis to be expected next year and raised to $50,000.
The minimum salary for teachers increased over the last few years following a law passed by Gov. Bill Lee in 2023.
The Teacher Paycheck Protection Act raises the minimum teacher salary to $50,000 next year, which was an increase from $35,000 in 2019.
The minimum salary increased in 2023 to $44,500 and in 2025 the salary was $47,000.
In the next school year the minimum for a teacher salary will raise to $50,000 across the state.
Governor Lee said teachers will have “largest pay raise in state history.”
