The UT Martin women Skyhawks played the nations 8th ranked Tennessee Lady Vols to a halftime tie, but fell 72-61 at the Pat Summitt Heritage Classic played at the Elam Center.
The women Skyhawks and Lady Vols were deadlocked at 33-33 at the intermission, but a 39-28 scoring run by the Lady Vols in the second half sealed the win.
Grace Billington led UT Martin with 20 points and eight rebounds, with Kenley McCarn adding 14.
Nya Robertson led the Lady Vols with 17 points.
Sunday’s game was a sell out with 4,560 fans in attendance.
