The Tennessee legislature lost one of their own this week. District 75 Representative Jeff Burkhart passed away in his sleep last night at age 63.
Burkhart was a lifelong resident of Clarksville who served three terms on the Clarksville City Council, the Montgomery County Education Foundation, the advisory board of the Sexual Assault Center, and worked as assistant fire chief for the Clarksville Fire Department.
State representative Tandy Darby tells Thunderbolt news, he was very close to him; he says “Not only was he a top tier leader for his constituents, he was as dear a friend I could ask for. Prayers for his family.”
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
