Martin Aldermen have Called a Meeting

The City of Martin Aldermen have called a meeting to request for the resignation of Mayor Randy Brundige to step down from his position following charges in Weakley County Circuit Court.

All six aldermen, individually, have signed a document to seek the resignation of Mayor Brundige from his position.  The meeting will consist of being a motion and a second, with discussion and then a roll call vote.

Also on the agenda is the discussion of the employment of Brad Thompson who serves as Economic and Community Development Director.  Mr. Thompson is also is facing charges in Weakley County Circuit Court. No other business will be discussed.

The Martin Alderman are Vice Mayor David Belote, Jacob Crow, Terry Hankins, Danny Nanney, Celeste Taylor and Lynette Wagster.

The meeting will be held at 5:15pm Tuesday November 25th  to be held at the Martin Police Department in the City Court Room.

The Mayor’s position is elected by registered voters in Martin and is serving in his sixth term. He has publicly said that this would be his final term. Meanwhile Mayor Brundige is continuing his day to day work at City Hall.
