A Memphis pled guilty to accepting a bribe as a public official Monday.
According to information presented in court, 41 year old Deon Scott was working as an Internal Affairs Investigator for the Office of Professional Standards for the Shelby County Divisions of Corrections, which houses federal inmates, when he accepted money to provide contraband to an inmate.
Mr. Scott was immediately terminated from his position.
Sentencing is set for February 19th, 2026. He faces up to 15 years in federal prison.
