
Martin Mayor Randy Brundige has resigned as of Friday afternoon at approximately 4:30.
All six Martin Aldermen have received his resignation.
At this time, Vice Mayor David Belote will assume the mayoral responsibilities.
In a special called meeting this Tuesday at 5:15 in the City Courtroom, the board will now solely discuss the employment of Economic and Community Development Director Brad Thompson.
Mr. Brundige, Mr. Thompson, and Ms. Natalie Brundige will appear in Weakley Circuit Court for their arraignment on Monday. The three are facing charges of theft of property and official misconduct.
Mr. Brundige was in his sixth term as Martin mayor, serving 23 years.
