Former Martin Mayor, Two Employees, Plead “Not Guilty”

In three short minutes in Weakley County Circuit Court today, in Dresden, former Martin Mayor Randy Brundige, his daughter Natalie Brundige and Economic Development Director, Brad Thompson, all plead “not guilty” to charges of theft of property and official misconduct.

Circuit Judge Jeff Parham, set a court date for February 9th of next year.

Issues were brought forth by the Tennessee State Comptroller’s Office and were presented to Attorney General Colin Johnson who sought a closed jury which led to charges of the three.

Mr. Brundige resigned his position last Friday at 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, a special called Martin City Board meeting tomorrow at 5:15 to determine whether Mr. Thompson will keep his position or terminate him.

The meeting has only one agenda item and is open to the public.
