The Tennessee Department of Transportation will assist motorists with their Thanksgiving holiday travel.
Those on the roadways will not be delayed by construction, as TDOT will halt all lane closures on interstates and state highways.
All construction related lane closures will begin at noon on Wednesday and will remain in place until 6:00 in the morning on December 1st.
Triple-A is predicting record setting travel, with 1.8 million Tennesseans expected to take a trip during the holiday period.
TDOT Commissioner Will Reid said halting the closures helps provide maximum capacity on the highways and helps alleviate congestion.
