A first degree murder case in Obion County has been waived over to the grand jury.
68 year old Gloria Ann Jenkins waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday morning in front of General Sessions Judge Jimmy Smith.
Mrs. Jenkins was arrested and charged following the shooting death of her husband, 71 year old Paul Jenkins, on September 16th at their home in Rives.
Obion County Sheriff’s Office reports said deputies responded to the Jenkins home, after Mrs. Jenkins made a call stating she had shot her husband.
At the time of the shooting, Paul Jenkins had been pastor for 14 years at Miles Church in Martin.
During the short appearance Thursday at the Obion County Courthouse, Mrs. Jenkins attorney, Melinda Meador, stated her client requested to waive the scheduled hearing.
With the request, Judge Smith bound the case to the grand jury, which will meet on February 3rd.
Mrs. Jenkins will remain free on a property bond that was agreed upon, with stipulations, during a hearing held in September.
