
The Huntingdon Mustangs defeated Marion County Saturday and won the TSSAA state championship in Class –AA 20-7 victory over Marion County in Chattanooga.
Mustangs quarterback Kenton Smith, was named the MVP, and helped his team with 111 yards rushing, a touch0adown while adding a passing touchdown as Huntingdon jumped out to a 20-0 lead early in the third quarter.
Huntingdon earned its second state championship, with the first coming in 2003.
Meanwhile the Westview Chargers won their game Friday with a 62 to 21 win over Gatlinburg Pittman to claim their second state title. Quarterback Graham Simpson was named the MVP.
And in Class-A South Pittsburg defeated the McKenzie Rebels 42-14 to claim the Class A title.
