At last nights Martin City Board meeting Aldermen unanimously named Alderwoman Celeste Taylor to be the City of Martin’s Vice Mayor.
Ms. Taylor worked as an employee for the City of Martin for 26 years. She began as a Police Dispatcher, worked her way to Communications Supervisor, moved to the Martin City Hall as a Clerk.
She then worked as the Purchase Clerk, Utilities Clerk, Payroll Clerk, and later to HR Administrator.
Ms. Taylor currently is Director of Administration and Human Resources for Public Entity Partners in Franklin.
The vacant position was open as former Vice Mayor David Belote is now acting as Mayor of Martin.
The transition took place following the resignation of former Martin Mayor Randy Brundige who stepped down last month.
