Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Fire at Willow Tree Restaurant in Obion

Just after 2:00 Monday morning, Obion Fire Department was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at 128 E. Palestine Avenue, known to the community as the Willow Tree Restaurant.

Fire crews found the two-story structure fully involved, with the Hornbeak Fire Department and Troy Fire Department responding with automatic aid.

Due to the extent of the fire, Union City, Kenton, and Rives Fire Departments were requested for mutual aid.

As a result of the incident, two nearby eighteen-wheelers sustained damage, and an adjacent building experienced smoke and minor fire damage.

In total, 22 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, which took roughly four hours to get under control and complete overhaul operations.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
