Ford Motor Company has announced big changes for its Blue Oval City in Tennessee.

Company officials say the Haywood County site will not produce electric vehicles as planned, but will now produce the all-new gas powered Built Ford Tough truck.

With multiple production delays already at the site, Ford Motor Company has announced production of the new gasoline trucks will begin in 2029.

According to Ford, the Blue Oval City campus will scrap the name of “Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center” and change to a renamed “Tennessee Truck Plant”.

Ford cited the change as due to lower-than-expected demand, high costs and regulatory changes.

Company president and CEO Jim Farley said the decision to scrap the electric vehicle plan in Tennessee came from a customer-driven shift.
