At the junior level, Charger Fellows are tasked with completing a community service project. Recently, two groups have completed their projects, both of which exceeded expectations and positively impacted their community.
Carson Gibson and Thomas Myers – both juniors at Westview and members of the Charger Fellows – chose to enhance a longstanding Westview tradition, the Angel Tree. These two students saw a need to make the Angel Tree gifts more accessible to the community and created an Amazon Wish List that delivered gifts purchased for the Angel Tree directly to Westview High School.
Lena Zimmerman and Corrina Boyd – both also Westview juniors and Charger Fellows members – hosted a Holiday Give-Back event at Westview to collect canned-goods, gifts, and monetary donations for WeCare Ministries. The event included arts and crafts for kids, hot chocolate, snacks, and a visit from Santa Clause.
