Union City Council members approved purchases at this week’s meeting.
For the Fire Department, Council members awarded a bid to purchase two gear washers and two gear dryers.
Laundry South, of Garland, Texas, submitted the low bid of $32,366. Bids were also received from companies in Arkansas and Kentucky.
Funding for the washers and dryers was provided by a 100-percent grant.
Council members also voted to purchase two dump trucks from Sourcewell at a price of $122,864 each.
One truck will be designated for the Storm Water Department, with the other used at Public Works.
