The National Weather Service forecast for high winds and much colder temperatures was accurate for the Ken-Tenn area.
High winds on Sunday led to severe thunderstorm and Tornado warnings north of the local area, as temperatures soared to the mid-70’s.
The National Weather Service released a three-hour peak winds report, which showed winds in Jackson during the period at 35 miles-per-hour, Greenfield and Dyersburg at 29 miles-per-hour and Union City at 28 miles-per-hour.
Forecasters were also accurate about the dip in temperatures following the passage of the strong cold front.
