A small earthquake was recorded in northern Dyer County on Tuesday.
The Center for Earthquake Information said a 2.5 tremor occurred around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon northwest of Newbern.
The earthquake was about seven miles northwest of Newbern near the Obion County line, and was recorded at a depth of about four miles.
