
A large number of earthquakes have been recorded in Northwest Tennessee over the past six months.
Maps from the Center for Earthquake Research and Information shows over 40 tremors have been detected in Lake, Obion and Dyer County.
The map indicates Lake County with the highest number of recorded earthquakes at 34, with seven registered in Dyer County and two in Obion County.
The latest recorded tremor occurred in Dyer County on December 30th.
The 2.5 registered earthquake was centered northeast of Bogota.
The largest recorded earthquake during the six month period was 2.73 on November 9th.
This was centered in northern Dyer County on Cherry Road, near the Dyer County/Obion County line.
