Former Westview and University of Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has announced his plans to enter the NFL Draft.
Simpson made the announcement on Wednesday, foregoing a final year in college football.
The 23 year old Simpson completed 305 of 473 passes for the Crimson Tide this season, which included 28 touchdowns.
He led Alabama to the SEC Championship Game and College Football Playoffs, where they defeated Oklahoma and fell to No.1 ranked Indiana.
Had he remained in college, Simpson’s NIL valuation was placed at $2.1 million dollars, with possible playing spots at Tennessee, Miami and Oregon.
Mock draft predictions have placed Simpson as the third leading quarterback in the 2026 class, with a possible late first round selection.
