The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime closure of the U.S. 51 Ohio River Cairo Bridge on Thursday.
The closure is to allow for a navigation lighting inspection.
The bridge, which connects Wickliffe and Cairo, will be closed to traffic from 8:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon weather permitting.
Transportation officials say crews will inspect electrical conduits and junction boxes associated with the bridge’s navigation lighting system.
Motorists traveling between Kentucky and Illinois are advised to use the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis as an alternate route.
