Both Martin City Board and Weakley County Commission members named replacements for open seats last night.
Weakley County Commission members named Toya Bell of Dresden to fill the unexpired term of former Circuit Court Clerk Courtney McMinn.
Ms. Bell was the former Dresden City Police Clerk and will begin her job today.She was sworn in by County Clerk Kim Hughey
Meanwhile the Martin City Board approved Dr. Kent Kelso to fill the unexpired term of Alderman David Belote in Ward 2 seat.
Dr. Ward fills the seat of Mr. Belote who moved to the Mayor’s chair after former Mayor Randy Brundige resigned.
Dr. Ward is the interim Chair of the Department of Education Studies at UT Martin.
Dr. Kelso was sworn in by Circuit Judge Jeff Parham to fill the Ward 2 seat on the Martin City Board.
