A year-long wildlife poaching ring in Kentucky has been busted by the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
The investigation by game wardens in the third district resulted in arrests and charges to six individuals.
Those arrested ranged in age of 18-to-21, with charges involving the illegal killing of several hundred animals and a domestic pet.
Fish and Wildlife reports said the turning point came in July of 2024, when game wardens intercepted the group after observing spotlighting from a vehicle into fields.
The investigation concluded with 116 criminal charges being issued.
One individual, 21 year old Allen Sauer of Leitchfield, was issued 76 charges that included 52 counts of illegal take of turkey or deer, spotlighting and animal cruelty.
